Example & Explanation of some recent firings and glazes

This is a recent firing.  The clay is Standard Ceramics #378 which has a brown body.  This is a cone 7 Oxidation firing on a top end soak and a slow cool through 1500 Deg F.  The cup was dipped in Spanish Iron Red and the top band is a second dip in an Alberta blue slip with 4% titanium oxide.  The effect came out really very nice.
